Maybelline (Bleached Neons) Tropink over Essence Wild White Ways

Hi everyone! :)

I was so excited to try the Maybelline Bleached Neons, (I live for neon and glitter!), and this colour did not disappoint.

First of all; it was actually neon, unlike a lot of polishes that advertise themselves to be neon, and then just aren’t. Don’t say you’re neon if you’re not neon! It’s false advertisement! (Am I getting too shouty? I get a bit shouty about non-neon neons).

Secondly, it was a gorgeous colour. It sat in-between pink and coral, neither one nor the other, just sat there, being pretty. I loved it and I keep picking it to wear over my other neons just because the colour is a bit different, a bit less obvious and really girly. (You know, compared to the traffic cone orange neon and the highlighter yellow neon).

However, it is necessary to wear this polish over a white base. I used Essence Wild White Ways, which has a great formula and coverage. If you are shopping for a white polish, I’d highly recommend this one. I went out and bought a few backups because it’s so hard to find a good white.

Sinful Colors Cream Pink

Hi :)

Sinful Colors Cream Pink looks dark pink in the bottle but when you put it on your nails, it’s actually a light, neon pink! When I put it on, it dried slightly matte, and I thought maybe it was meant to be a matte polish, like Savage, but when I walked by the window I realised it was neon!

It’s not eye searingly bright, it’s a little neon, a baby neon. If you think neon is too much for you but you want to dip your toe in the neon water, then this might be perfect for you. It also has beautiful gold shimmer. This would be perfect with a tan and it was so pretty that I wore it alone.

Orly Beach Cruiser and Born Pretty Store Neon Pink Glitter

Hi :)

Now that we finally have some sunshine here, I want to wear neon! I love neon nails, they look so vivid in the sun. Do you wear neon in the Summer? I get a lot of comments when I wear neon, not all of it positive! (So rude!)

I put on two coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White, the best white nail polish I have ever used, then put striping tape down the middle of my nail and added a thick coat of Orly Beach Cruiser on one side.

Beach Cruiser photographed a bit darker than it is in person but it’s so difficult to capture neon, especially in the Sun. The camera reacts like my cat when I’m trying to give it medicine, “No! NO! NO!“.

Then I added some round neon pink glitter from BornPrettyStore.com. The glitter is 1.68 euro and they do free worldwide shipping AND this code will get you a further 10% off, which makes it a bargain in any language! :)

Wet n Wild 2% Milk

Hi :)

This is my third time in a row to wear this polish, I just keep taking it off and then putting it back on again!

I love it so much!

If, like me, you struggle to find the perfect nude polish, if you can never achieve the fabled “Mannequin Hands”, if you want to look like you are not wearing nail polish, but simply have beautiful healthy shiny nails, then this is the one for you! I implore you! Buy this! Buy it now! *Hypnotoad says buy this now*

It’s a nude polish but it has just a hint of pink, not enough to mistake it for a pink polish, but just enough so that your hands look like they belong to a real human. (Zombie hands is something I get with most nudes, but I prefer them to look human, don’t you?)

If you wear it with just one or two coats you get the “my nails but better” look, but I used four coats because I wanted an opaque background for my neon glitter.

Bornprettystore.com sent me this glitter as a free sample. It is eye-searingly bright. It’s the most neon of all things neon! I love it of course!

What’s not to love?

Glitter? Check!

Round? Check!

NEON? Check!

Plus it only costs E1.67 and if you use my discount code, AZHW10, then it’s only E1.50 and they deliver worldwide for free. So for the change in your purse will can buy a tiny pot of happiness! :D

Orly Choreographed Chaos

Hi everyone :)

I am absolutely in love with this polish and it’s the perfect remedy to dank weather! It’s a super hot Barbie pink with blue shimmer.

The formula was a little bit hard to work with because the finish was a little matte and dried quickly, so it dragged a bit. I really wanted a smooth surface to show off the blue shimmer and it got a little lost in the bald spots. However, if I had worked faster or used thinner coats, this wouldn’t have been a problem.

The amazing colour far outweighs the minor formula problem – look how bright! :)

The New Black Contemporary Neons Tabloid Sensations

Hi everyone!

The New Black Contemporary Neons Tabloid Sensations is a set of two mini nail polishes. I posted the first one earlier this week, Gold Grenade, and this is the second one. I thought the coral one was called Gold Grenade because that was written on the bottom of the bottle, but the same thing was written on the bottom of the purple polish, so now I don’t know what either of them are called!

They are supposed to be neon, (it’s in the title after all), and they’re not, but they are very bright! I like bright! This one has a rubbery finish but that was cured with a coat of Essie Good To Go topcoat. The formula was lovely and the coverage was good too, sometimes neons can be tricky but this one was like butta.

The photo isn’t colour accurate but I wanted to share it anyway! :)

P.S. Love… (No Name) and Claire’s Dizzy

Hi Everyone :)

Today I have a really bright and really cheap mani! My favourite kind!

The purple polish is from Penny’s/Primark and I love these polishes because they have the brightest colours but they do smell. They smell of chemicals but I can’t resist a good neon polish, especially a purple one. I also can’t resist a bargain!

The purple neons are never really neon. (Am I right? If you have a neon purple polish please tell me!) This one is very bright but still not neon. It’s way brighter than my next brightest purple polish but I’m still on the hunt for a highlighter neon purple.

The glitter from Claire’s was also a bargain, I loved the bright mix of neon matte glitter which was all over the indie polish sites during the summer. As I’m a polish addict on a budget, I rescued this one from the bargain bin and was really happy to finally have a neon glitter! (Even though I still want the Indie original!).

The formulas of both were not great. Both a little thick and hard to manage and chemically. I’m sure they won’t last well, they will probably be a gloopy, discoloured mess by next summer but that’s the price (you don’t) pay when you buy cheap products.

It’s a constant argument in my head, to buy good quality  and be able to use it over and over or cheap and have to probably bin it. What do you guys think? Do you buy all high end polishes or all cheap or a mix?

I used Essie Good To Go Topcoat.

NYC Sugar Heel and Hairspray

Hi guys :)

This is NYC Sugar Heel, a white polish with a white shimmer/pearl finish. I was looking for a white polish that I could wear alone without it looking too stark and this is it because the finish gives it a soft, pretty look. I was really happy with this polish, the formula was lovely and it only needed two coats. All for only E1.59. Bargain!

I also picked up this neon yellow nail polish called Hairspray S416. I had never heard of the brand Hairspray so I Googled it only to find out it’s an Irish beauty brand.  The formula was a bit watery so I layered two coats over NYC Sugar Heel. It also had a chemical smell but you can’t beat the colour! It was radioactive when out in the sun!

Claire’s Splatter Pink

Hi everyone :)

Today I have on a neon pink jelly polish that has black and white glitter in it. I really loved this polish when I saw it in Claire’s but when I picked it up to use it yesterday, the bottom of the bottle was yellow. I’m not sure what happened but the overall polish took on a slight yellow tint which really annoyed me.

Although I love the new range of polishes in Claire’s and they are reasonable priced, they are more expensive than Essence or Catrice and regardless of the price, I don’t expect polishes to change colour. I’m hoping this was a one time bad formula and the other polishes I bought will stand the test of time but this, along with a rude check out girl, has meant that I haven’t been back to buy any more from them.

Here’s a link to the other Claire’s glitter that I already showed you, Digi Pop.

P.S. Love… (Primark/Penny’s Nail Polish)

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a great neon orange nail polish that I bought for about e1.50 in Penny’s (that’s Primark to you English girls :). I lovve neon nail polish and the brighter they are the better. A woman actually stopped what she was doing to stare at this polish and when I looked at her she said, “oh..erm…your nails are very eye catching!”. Lol. Neon isn’t for everyone.

Anyway, it was super cheap. The formula was managable, no complaints but I’ve had better. My other Primark nail polishes have a strong smell and I was expecting the same with this one but it wasn’t as strong. It doesn’t smell nice but I’d definitely put up with it for a lovely colour like this and the smell disappears when you add topcoat. All in all, it was definitely worth the small price tag and I’ve already gone back and bought another one.

This is three coats because I dinged one nail and needed to add another coat to cover it up and then had to paint all of them! :) Oh and it doesn’t have a name, P.S. Love.. is all that’s on the box.

P.S. Love…

It comes in a lovely little box too, I mean really! For one euro fifty! I love Penny’s.

Do you wear neon nail polish or is it too “eye catching”? :)
