Sinful Colors Savage and L.A. Colors Confetti!

Hi :)

EDIT: Thanks to the girls on reddit! The name of the glitter is L.A. Colors Confetti :D

I need your help today! I don’t know the name of the glitter I used below, and I’m hoping one of you lovelies might recognize it :)

I bought a bottle of glitter, I think it was an american brand like Wet n Wild, and I dropped it and the bottle broke! I always keep an empty bottle of basecoat/topcoat in my dresser for just such an emergency, (a tip I picked up on MUA), and I poured what I could save into the empty OPI bottle and binned the broken bottle without checking the name!

Now I can’t remember the name or the brand! I was so busy trying to clean it up that I never wrote it down. :/ (P.s. there’s still a circle of glitter on my carpet – I kinda like it though! :)

The other polish is Sinful Colors Savage, one of polishes I hauled from Dealz, and it’s a really pretty green and it dried matte to my surprise! :)

Here’s a pic of the glitter, not in it’s original bottle, (it’s definitely not OPI), anyone? Any guesses? :)

It’s got red, gold, pink, silver and green glitter (the same colour as Savage.)

Essence Candy Crush The Matt and Jamberry Nail Wraps Sweet Nothing

Hi guys! :)

Kami, the fabulous Jamberry consultant, sent me more free nail wrap samples! (You can see the last one here). I’m becoming a bit obsessed with these wraps. I think she just sent me more because I was so in love with them! She also sent me a full set to try out but that’s being saved for a special occasion! (You know that thing when you like something so much you won’t use it? Anyone? :D)

The designs are just so girly and pretty! Usually when I see wraps, I think “I’m not going to buy those, I can do that myself”, but the Jamberry designs are so delicate or graphic that they would be really difficult to recreate, even for the most talented artist. Plus, they last well, are comfortable and really reasonably priced. I’m itching for them to become available internationally!

You can see the wraps being worn on Kami’s Instagram here or her Facebook page here, where you can also get in touch with her to find out more. Then you’ll see why I love them so much – the gold ones she just posted on her Facebook page are gorgeous!

AND the first 30 of you to fill out this form will receive your own free sample! I can’t wait for you guys to try them, they are so cute in person! :D (***You must live in the U.S. or Canada to get a free sample).

The nail polish is Essence The Matt Candy Crush and it’s a gorgeous summer colour. It’s really bright and pink/coral. The finish is a matte texture but it’s quite subtle and was completely smooth after one coat of NYC Good To Go. Like the red polish yesterday, I just loved this particular shade, it’s just a really pretty colour. I have it on my toes now! Oh and the wrap is called Sweet Nothing! :D

I was still wearing this three days later and didn’t want to take it off, I just loved the colour of the polish and the wrap together, so I added a coat of NYC Good To Go: (There’s no topcoat on the wrap, it’s that shiny alone and doesn’t need any topcoat to stay on.)

350.2 Essence Candy Crush The Matt and Jamberry Sweet Nothing

Lastly, I just want to show you the bottle, only to show off the beautiful stationary and paper flowers that Kami sent with the free samples, it’s so pretty! Even the sellotape was pretty! :D It’s so nice to get a little gift that’s beautifully packaged! (Don’t forget to fill out the form above to get your own!)

Thanks for looking! Hope you enjoy your free Jamberry nail wraps!

Sinful Colors Snow Me White

Hi :)

So as you may have gathered from my recent posts, I’m a little conflicted about Valentine’s Day. I love all things pink and sparkly and heart shaped every other day of the year but there’s something weird about this stooopid holiday that makes it less of a celebration when you’re single. I still want to do nail art but the nagging single-ness stops me reaching for the neon pinks and heart shaped glitters. (My poor heart shaped glitters, they get so little love, ironically.)

So when I saw this post on mkmyday it spoke to me! Then I came across Sinful Colors Snow Me White in Dealz and fate decided for me! Black and white it is! If you like nail art then you should really check out mkmyday on tumblr or instagram. They do the coolest designs :)

A word about Snow Me White. Perfection.

It is the most perfect white creme ever. The formula is like melted butter. Two coats and done. Highly recommended. I did the little shaky hearts and dots with my Model’s Own Nail Art Pen. Then added a coat of Essie Matte About You. I’ll be honest; I only added the matte topcoat because I thought it was my regular topcoat. The bottles are identical. :)

Hard Candy Fun n’ Festive

Hi :)

Fun n’ Festive is green, gold, orange and black glitter in a dark green base. It’s very Halloween. It looked a bit dark and murky when I put it on first so I added a coat of Essie Matte About You to bring out the glitter.

It’s weird and dark and green but it kind of works! I’m definitely going to wear this again in October. :)

Revlon Ruby Ribbon (Matte Suede)

Hi :)

Revlon Ruby Ribbon is a deep raspberry colour matte finish nail polish with delicate white shimmer. I used three coats to make it a bit darker but it only barely needed two coats – which would have given a lighter more raspberry colour than pictured here.

It was gorgeous, and although I love matte/textured polishes on their own and rarely topcoat them, I wanted to do something to this polish just because I’m trying to experiment with nail art. So I added topcoat to the tips.

However, the shiny tips didn’t stand out or look good! So then I topcoated the whole thing and tried to distract from the fact that I made a pretty polish less so by adding triangle studs and some striping tape.

Judge the results for yourself! :)

Topcoat on the tips:

Topcoat on everything! Triangle studs and gold striping tape:

I should have just left this one alone! I loved it matte to begin with!

Do you prefer matte or shiny nail polish?

Rimmel Moon Walking (Space Dust Collection)

Hi :)

I went absolutely ga-ga over the Rimmel Space Dust Collection. I bought the only two I could find and they both quickly became my favourite silver and nude polishes. They are the best textures ever because they are sparkly and matte at the same time, very pigmented and they look texturised but never snag on anything.

When I came across the entire Space Dust collection in a pound shop, I bought them all, including a spare silver and nude!

This purple Space Dust is called Moon Walking and it has a much richer colour than you see in the bottle and tiny purple glitter that catches alll the light, and larger hex glitter for extra sparkle. I absolutely loved it and didn’t make the mistake of adding anything to it! :)

Essence Who Am I? (Porcelain Effect)

Hi :)

Super simple nails today. No nail art, I promise!

This is another polish from the Essence Good Girl Bad Girl Collection. Who Am I? is an off white polish with a delicate pink shimmer throughout so it actually looks like a very pale pink.

I was expecting super shiny, smooth nails from the Porcelain Effect sticker on the bottle but it actually has a matte finish. I was surprised! I’m having a love affair with matte polishes right now so I loved the look and I never did topcoat it. (but I didn’t ruin it with a weird tribal design either!)

Sally Hansen Velveteen (Velvet Texture) and China Glaze Elfin’ Around

Hi :)

I loved yesterdays polish so much that I couldn’t take it off yet, so instead I went to Google for some inspiration to spice it up. That’s where I found a pic of the Nicole Miller Fall 2014 runway nails. I used China Glaze Elfin’ Around and a striping nail art brush to try and recreate the look and this is how it turned out.

Sally Hansen Velveteen and China Glaze Elfin’ Around:

424.3 Sally Hansen Velveteen and China Glaze Elfin' Around

It didn’t quite look the same and I wasn’t sure why, (other than the fact that these nails were copied by me in my pyjamas eating Nutella from the jar and the runway nails were created by a professional!), and then I read the description of the nails and it said Katie Jane Hughes used a matte top coat to create her look. So then I added Essie Matte About You over the whole thing. (Didn’t get Nutella on my keyboard.)

Sally Hansen Velveteen, China Glaze Elfin’ Around and Essie Matte About You:

Then I declared to an empty room, with a chocolate covered spoon held to the sky: “Close Enough!” and went to bed. :)

P.S. Love… (No Name) and Claire’s Dizzy

Hi Everyone :)

Today I have a really bright and really cheap mani! My favourite kind!

The purple polish is from Penny’s/Primark and I love these polishes because they have the brightest colours but they do smell. They smell of chemicals but I can’t resist a good neon polish, especially a purple one. I also can’t resist a bargain!

The purple neons are never really neon. (Am I right? If you have a neon purple polish please tell me!) This one is very bright but still not neon. It’s way brighter than my next brightest purple polish but I’m still on the hunt for a highlighter neon purple.

The glitter from Claire’s was also a bargain, I loved the bright mix of neon matte glitter which was all over the indie polish sites during the summer. As I’m a polish addict on a budget, I rescued this one from the bargain bin and was really happy to finally have a neon glitter! (Even though I still want the Indie original!).

The formulas of both were not great. Both a little thick and hard to manage and chemically. I’m sure they won’t last well, they will probably be a gloopy, discoloured mess by next summer but that’s the price (you don’t) pay when you buy cheap products.

It’s a constant argument in my head, to buy good quality  and be able to use it over and over or cheap and have to probably bin it. What do you guys think? Do you buy all high end polishes or all cheap or a mix?

I used Essie Good To Go Topcoat.

Rimmel Breakfast in Bed and Catrice Glitterazzi

Hi guys :)

I grabbed Breakfast in Bed from the new Rimmel Rita Ora Collection because it reminded me of mint ice-cream, perfect for the summer! It has a white shimmer/pearl finish and I was worried I wouldn’t like it, but it’s really subtle so I was happy! I added Catrice Glitterazzi over it because I just bought it and couldn’t wait to try it out :)

Rimmel Breakfast in Bed. The formula was a tad thick and the brush left streak marks, so I used three coats and Essie Good To Go Topcoat.

Rimmel Breakfast in Bed and Catrice Glitterazzi. The formula of the Catrice was perfect, I used one coat and another coat of Essie Good To Go.

I then added a coat of Essie Matte About You.
