L’Oreal Femme Fatale and BornPrettyStore nail decoration

Hi everyone! :)

You just can’t beat a good red nail polish. It cures all! (It cures some). (Ok, it doesn’t cure anything, but it can cheer you up a bit).

After applying topcoat, I glued on these Born Pretty Store decorations. I really like them. You get five in a pack and they’re curved to fit the nail, which means they don’t catch in anything. (I was afraid they would catch in everything!) I ended up wearing them for two days with no problems.

The L’Oreal had a great formula too, the more I try these polishes the more I like them.

Wet n Wild I Need A Refresh-Mint

Hi :)

I’m having lots of fun experimenting with nail art but it’s so scary because it’s very difficult to make it look like it does on Pinterest! Those girls are professionals! (Nail Technicians, not the other kind of professional. ;)

Today I thought, “Why try one nail art effect, when you can try them all?” and I ended up with dots, stripes, chevrons and (always) glitter!

– I used NYC Frozen Metal (silver) under Wet n Wild I Need A Refresh-Mint (green) for the stripes on my index finger.

– My Middle finger is two coats of No7 Snow Wash over I Need A Refresh-Mint.

– Ring finger is Rimmel Disco Fever, hand placed, over NYC Frozen Metal.

– Pinkie is Deborah Lippman Amazing Grace over I Need A Refresh-Mint.

NYC Velvet Chic

Hi :)

NYC Velvet Chic is a lovely light grey creme polish. I felt very chic and understated wearing this colour, so of course I had to put a stop to that in a hurry! :D

I took some neon polish, (American Apparel Neon Red), and my Model’s Own Nail Art Pen and tried to recreate this Wah Nails Tribal mani. I only did one nail because I didn’t want to ruin the whole thing altogether!

It wasn’t a complete disaster but the dots at the top of my nail are supposed to be tiny thin lines…sooo… practice make perfect? :)

Sally Hansen Velveteen (Velvet Texture) and China Glaze Elfin’ Around

Hi :)

I loved yesterdays polish so much that I couldn’t take it off yet, so instead I went to Google for some inspiration to spice it up. That’s where I found a pic of the Nicole Miller Fall 2014 runway nails. I used China Glaze Elfin’ Around and a striping nail art brush to try and recreate the look and this is how it turned out.

Sally Hansen Velveteen and China Glaze Elfin’ Around:

It didn’t quite look the same and I wasn’t sure why, (other than the fact that these nails were copied by me in my pyjamas eating Nutella from the jar and the runway nails were created by a professional!), and then I read the description of the nails and it said Katie Jane Hughes used a matte top coat to create her look. So then I added Essie Matte About You over the whole thing. (Didn’t get Nutella on my keyboard.)

Then I declared to an empty room, with a chocolate covered spoon held to the sky: “Close Enough!” and went to bed. :)
