Binky Gold Rush

Hi :)

This is Binky Gold Rush, a lovely pale gold texture polish. I already posted the pink and purple texture polishes from Binky and said how much I like the formula, that the polishes are really pretty and that they are a great price at four euro.

However, while wearing this pretty polish today, it did not hold up well. I spent about an hour cleaning and about half the polish came off. I was really disappointed because I planned on collecting all the Binky’s but I think I may leave the rest of them on the shelf.

Because I change my polish at least twice a week, wear time isn’t high on my priority list, but I need to be able to wash the dishes! If the polish can’t last that long then it really isn’t worth wearing at all. It’s a shame because I really do like the polish!

Essence Candy Crush The Matt and Jamberry Nail Wraps Sweet Nothing

Hi guys! :)

Kami, the fabulous Jamberry consultant, sent me more free nail wrap samples! (You can see the last one here). I’m becoming a bit obsessed with these wraps. I think she just sent me more because I was so in love with them! She also sent me a full set to try out but that’s being saved for a special occasion! (You know that thing when you like something so much you won’t use it? Anyone? :D)

The designs are just so girly and pretty! Usually when I see wraps, I think “I’m not going to buy those, I can do that myself”, but the Jamberry designs are so delicate or graphic that they would be really difficult to recreate, even for the most talented artist. Plus, they last well, are comfortable and really reasonably priced. I’m itching for them to become available internationally!

You can see the wraps being worn on Kami’s Instagram here or her Facebook page here, where you can also get in touch with her to find out more. Then you’ll see why I love them so much – the gold ones she just posted on her Facebook page are gorgeous!

AND the first 30 of you to fill out this form will receive your own free sample! I can’t wait for you guys to try them, they are so cute in person! :D (***You must live in the U.S. or Canada to get a free sample).

The nail polish is Essence The Matt Candy Crush and it’s a gorgeous summer colour. It’s really bright and pink/coral. The finish is a matte texture but it’s quite subtle and was completely smooth after one coat of NYC Good To Go. Like the red polish yesterday, I just loved this particular shade, it’s just a really pretty colour. I have it on my toes now! Oh and the wrap is called Sweet Nothing! :D

I was still wearing this three days later and didn’t want to take it off, I just loved the colour of the polish and the wrap together, so I added a coat of NYC Good To Go: (There’s no topcoat on the wrap, it’s that shiny alone and doesn’t need any topcoat to stay on.)

Lastly, I just want to show you the bottle, only to show off the beautiful stationary and paper flowers that Kami sent with the free samples, it’s so pretty! Even the sellotape was pretty! :D It’s so nice to get a little gift that’s beautifully packaged! (Don’t forget to fill out the form above to get your own!)

Binky London Purple Shimmer

Hi :)

My apologies for the lack of posts the last few weeks. I’m having internet issues and today I accidentally poured water all over my laptop charger, it snapped, crackled and popped, all the way to the graveyard! My magnificent brother gave me his laptop to use, but all of my photos are on my dead laptop. I hope to have a new charger soon, and in the meantime I’ll post as often as I can. :)

I posted this beautiful pink texture polish from Binky London last month, and I loved it so much my wonderful Mother went back and bought me the purple version, (She’s the only Mother that gives gifts on Mother’s day! Thanks for the chocolates too Mam!), called Purple Shimmer. It has the same great finish and formula as the pink one.  I am still very much in love with this brand. It’s totally changed my mind about celebrity brands. I won’t be so hesitant to try them in the future. (I’m looking at you Kardashian Kollection.)

However, it’s a 99.9% dupe for Rimmel Moon Walking, which I posted here. :( The only slight difference is that the purple base is richer than the Rimmel, which fades a bit as it dries.

It’s still a great polish and I can’t complain about having two beautiful purple textures :)

Maybelline Nearly Black (Crystallize)

Hi :)

I tried this negative space mani for my Anti-Valentines day nails and was really surprised by how much I liked the look. (I thought I’d hate showing part of my naked nail, #NeverNude). So I wanted to try it again!

I used this black texture polish so that I could apply one coat and remove the tape straight away and still have full coverage. I actually used these Seche French Mani Guides, they are the best I’ve ever tried, they give a clean line every time and leave no horrible sticky residue behind.

I used Wet n Wild 2% Milk as my base again and then I placed the Seche french mani guides and then used one thick coat of Nearly Black and removed the guides immediately. Voila!

Binky London Pink Crystal

Hi :)

Do you guys watch Made in Chelsea? You know Binky? Well she has her own cosmetics line! I only know about it because when MiC started first, I followed her on YouTube where she does make up tutorials, and she mentioned the launch of her first collection of petrol, (duochrome), nail polishes. I never saw any of her products here in Ireland..until now!

I picked up this gorgeous pink glitter nail polish and was surprised to find out it was a texture! She’s up to date with the trends, is Binky! To be honest I wasn’t expecting much but then I tried it and I was really surprised by how great the quality was; and it was only 4 euro. A very reasonable price for any brand.

It gave complete coverage in one coat, (although I used two here), and the colour and texture effect were really pretty! Well done Binks! Great products at a great price. Who knew she had such good business sense? I’ll definitely be trying out more of her stuff.

I added round holo glitter from Essence to the moons, just for some extra pizzazz, because if glitter is good then more glitter is better! :)

Rimmel Luna Love and Total Eclipse (Space Dust)

Hi :)

Me and the lovely Jaimie of addalittlepolish.com decided to do a collaboration for Valentine’s day! I’m so excited to be doing this with her because she does the cutest manis and it was fun doing something with another blogger, especially one as nice as her.

We decided that we would both do a mani with a gradient theme, but I would do an Anti-Valentine’s version and she would do a Valentine’s version. You can check out her version here! :) She’s also on Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook so you can check out all of her cute nail designs. :)

I used Rimmel Luna Love and Total Eclipse from the Space Dust Collection. (Best texture collection ever!). Luna Love is a bright pink texture with blue shimmer, it is beautiful and it’s perfect for a Valentine’s mani.

But I didn’t want a Valentine’s mani, I wanted an Anti-Valentine’s mani so I used Total Eclipse over it. Total Eclipse is a black texture with green shimmer. Both of these polishes are gorgeous!

The idea is that I’m trying to cover Valentine’s, (pink), with the gaping hole that is singledom, (black ), but it’s not completely covered because love is stronger than hate, it will never be completely wiped out. :) I’m keeping hope alive people! *Passes chocolate around*

Maybelline Red Excess (Crystallize)

Hi :)

Another day, another texture! This is a black polish with duochrome glassflecks that shift from red to gold.

I used two coats but when the polish dried it looked more brown than black so then I added topcoat, and unlike yesterday, this baby shined with topcoat! Shined and sparkled! I lovvved it topcoated, it went back to looking black, the flakies sparkled SO HARD! and the colour shift was way more noticable.

Buy this polish and topcoat it immediately! Oh and it’s only one coat of Seche Vite! It only needed one coat! I’m in polish heaven people! *Wiggles fingers*

Rimmel Moon Walking (Space Dust Collection)

Hi :)

I went absolutely ga-ga over the Rimmel Space Dust Collection. I bought the only two I could find and they both quickly became my favourite silver and nude polishes. They are the best textures ever because they are sparkly and matte at the same time, very pigmented and they look texturised but never snag on anything.

When I came across the entire Space Dust collection in a pound shop, I bought them all, including a spare silver and nude!

This purple Space Dust is called Moon Walking and it has a much richer colour than you see in the bottle and tiny purple glitter that catches alll the light, and larger hex glitter for extra sparkle. I absolutely loved it and didn’t make the mistake of adding anything to it! :)

Sally Hansen Velveteen (Velvet Texture) and China Glaze Elfin’ Around

Hi :)

I loved yesterdays polish so much that I couldn’t take it off yet, so instead I went to Google for some inspiration to spice it up. That’s where I found a pic of the Nicole Miller Fall 2014 runway nails. I used China Glaze Elfin’ Around and a striping nail art brush to try and recreate the look and this is how it turned out.

Sally Hansen Velveteen and China Glaze Elfin’ Around:

424.3 Sally Hansen Velveteen and China Glaze Elfin' Around

It didn’t quite look the same and I wasn’t sure why, (other than the fact that these nails were copied by me in my pyjamas eating Nutella from the jar and the runway nails were created by a professional!), and then I read the description of the nails and it said Katie Jane Hughes used a matte top coat to create her look. So then I added Essie Matte About You over the whole thing. (Didn’t get Nutella on my keyboard.)

Then I declared to an empty room, with a chocolate covered spoon held to the sky: “Close Enough!” and went to bed. :)

Sally Hansen Velveteen (Velvet Texture)

Hi :)

I love, love, love this polish! It was an impulse purchase at the check-out and now I want them all! I thought it would be just another matte black, they kind of all look the same, but it’s actually quite special.

It’s a lovely mix of a subtle texture, matte and black! Mmmm…goth-y sophistication.

I had planned to use this as a base for some crazy nail art, thinking it was just going to be a plain black with a matte finish, but I loved the simple velvet texture effect so much that I couldn’t bear to touch it. Although I did touch it, it really feels like velvet! :D

What do you guys think? Yay or nay?
